Umbrella Projects, Inc. ("Umbrella Projects," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Peppy mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App.
Summary: Peppy is designed as a local-first personal journal. Your dose logs, daily check-ins, weight entries, notes, and progress photos are stored on your device. We do not operate a Peppy account system or receive your health journal content. We collect limited, anonymous product analytics to improve the App.
The App lets you record information you choose to enter, which may include:
This information is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData). We do not receive, access, or store this journal content on our servers.
If you subscribe to Premium and enable iCloud backup, your App data may be stored in your private iCloud account via Apple CloudKit. That data remains in your Apple ID and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We cannot read your iCloud backup contents.
If you choose to connect Apple Health, the App may read or write health data (such as weight or sleep) only with your explicit permission through iOS. HealthKit data stays on your device or in your Health app unless you enable iCloud backup as described above. We do not receive HealthKit values on our servers.
Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card information. Apple provides us with purchase status information needed to unlock Premium features. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles payment data.
We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how the App is used (for example: screens viewed, paywall interactions, trial milestones, and non-identifying error codes). Analytics events may include:
We configure analytics so that medication names, dose amounts, weights, symptoms, notes, photos, and other journal content are never sent. TelemetryDeck does not use your data for advertising or cross-app tracking. Analytics may be disabled in builds where no analytics identifier is configured.
We rely on Apple's built-in tools (MetricKit and Xcode Organizer) for crash and performance diagnostics. If you opt in to share analytics with developers through iOS settings, Apple may provide aggregated crash data to us. We do not use third-party crash reporting SDKs.
If you enable notifications, dose and check-in reminders are scheduled locally on your device. We do not use notifications for advertising.
You may export your data to CSV from the App at any time. Exports are created on your device. You choose where to save or share them.
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Journal data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App. You can delete all App data from Settings within the App. Deleting the App removes local data unless you have an iCloud backup, which you manage through your Apple ID.
We use reasonable safeguards for any information we process. Optional Face ID or device passcode lock is available in the App. No method of electronic storage is completely secure.
Umbrella Projects, Inc. is based in the United States. Anonymous analytics data may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
